Euro Top in charge of communication and match-making facilities in SMEs go Health project (2007-2010)

Euro Top is not only responsible for the set up and administration of the "SMEs go Health" website and database, but also guarantees efficient communication and active information sharing inside the international consortium of 29 partners with the help of its Xtranet-ISA project management tool. Xtranet-ISA has been chosen to be used as the official communications platform in both of the successive projects, first in "SMEs go LifeSciences" and now in "SMEs go Health".

Since its launch in February 2007, users can find relevant information on the website and as well a database, which was created to give SMEs the opportunity to present their expertise and know-how.

Numerous SMEs have already taken advantage of this service by registering to the database. Research consortia who are preparing an FP7 project proposal and are looking for SME partners can register their project idea in there. Through proactive match-making activities of the "SMEs go Health" consortium, researchers are brought together with suitable SMEs. In addition, interested SMEs and research consortia can proactively and independently search the public database.

A first virtual brokerage event, also coordinated by Euro Top and implemented together with other project partners, has already been organised in June 2007, bringing together SMEs and academic institutions as potential workgroups around same topics of the "Health" work programme, encouraging contact, discussion and eventual collaboration between parties, which can finally lead to a collaborative research project. More brokerage events and training workshops are about to follow.
